Welcoming Week is dedicated to fostering an inclusive community, bringing together public and private organizations along with local residents to support and celebrate Grand Island’s immigrant and refugee populations, while promoting a culture of welcome and belonging.
The Heartland United Way and volunteers serve up tasty treats at the Nebraska State Fair, in an effort to raise money for the various organizations we serve in our four-county area.
The World's Largest Totally Irrigated Working Farm Show plays host to a food drive that has collected 17,000 pounds of food. Donations are distributed to 21 local backpack programs, food pantries, and shelters.
Each year around June 20th, communities worldwide gather for United Way's Day of Action, a global volunteering initiative aimed at creating impactful change. Volunteer opportunities are available. More details to come!
