Heartland United Way agencies provide health and wellness programs to encourage healthy lifestyles. Programs focus on providing medical and dental care to the uninsured, assisting people dealing with addiction and teaching kids skills to avoid drugs and alcohol, offering behavioral health services, supporting veterans and teaching about healthy relationships and violence prevention.

The World's Largest Totally Irrigated Working Farm Show plays host to a food drive that has collected 17,000 pounds of food. Donations are distributed to 21 local backpack programs, food pantries, and shelters.
